I can tell you this though there has been some chatter about the why the OSRS is still popular, it seems that the old-guard are still in love with the world of Gielinor and the old traditional way of doing things. I must be honest, having played both versions and being a fan of the OSRS I cannot pin point what makes it so popular. Personally, I think it nostalgia but other say it’s the compatibility of the game interface that allows for more user to use it. But in 2013 there was an Old School Version launched that has recently surpassed the player stat of RS 3.Īt times almost having double the active players worldwide OSRS is still a favourite amongst the fantasy online players. RuneScape has of course been updated and kept in line with the developments in technology. You were now not just playing with the players on your block, but you could now test your skills against the rest of the world. So, when RuneScape exploded on the scene it opened up a whole new galaxy of possibilities for the players.
